A few weeks back we held game 2 of our Necromunda Ash Wastes campaign. It was a match up between Cawdor and Orlocks.
The Cawdor Gang:
Below is a shot of the Cawdor gang. A rockgrinder was also included but is not pictured. And, the leader shown in the center was “counts as” a bike mount rather than the ridgewalker model stats. There is some good speed here and a decent number of flame template weapons.

The Orlock Gang:
The Orlock gang was led by a ridgehauler with cargo and supported by 5 wreckers with demo charges and a grease monkey. The leader has overseer and the two champions both took too pretty for primus. As a result, the Orlocks were super fast, hard hitting blast weapons, with an insanely tough tank.

I beleive the scenario was settlement raid. It was something where points we’re scored for each enemy model OOA with an expectation of needing to wipe the rival gang off the table.
Cawdor didn’t stand a chance, even as we eliminated the requirement to wreck the ridgehauler as part of the victory condition. The ridgehauler with 3 grenade launchers, coupled with 5 wreckers with 5″ blast demo charges and a grease monkey was over the top. The Orlock player graciously agreed to downgrade the hauler to a custom heavy vehicle after the game. ”Yea, I wouldn’t want to play against this.” It’s a great testament to the group that fun is more important than power. To be fair, we’re all new to Necromunda ash wastes and working toward some balance. We’ll see how the shift goes. Enjoy some action shots of the table and game!

Necromunda Ash Wastes Game 2 Summary:
The pre-made ridgehauler is OP. It has a cool concept, and yet it’s just not fun. Drop a comment with any suggestions on how to manage this. We’d love some interesting modifications to keep it in game but more balanced.
