Building a Scrapper Gang in Necromunda

I’ve been thinking for awhile about building a Necromunda ash wastes venator gang with a scrapper theme for awhile. I wanted it to feel like a group that was reusing interesting discarded parts on vehicles and other machines. Thus, here is Russ Magnusson & Co. Seditious Scrappers. A few things thematic elements rose to the top when working on this:

1. One of the champions needed a junkyard dog.
2. A champion or the leader should be a shotgun wielding tank. They needed to almost feel like they could burst into a bank to rob a vault, though more likely are looting someone else’s garage or camp for parts.
3. Any vehicles should include a variety of scrap parts. These scrappers are resourceful, making the most of anything they can find.
4. The gang needs a modified ambot. A robot to help transport heavy parts and potentially built from them.

Gang Leader and Champions: Shotguns!

In the light of shotguns never being my weapon of choice, I went big! The hunt leader and both champions have combat shotguns. The champion loadouts are:

1. Hunt Leader – combat shotgun, ceramite shield, light carapace armor (don’t judge me) + sprint skill.

2. Hunt Champion 1 – Combat shotgun, cyber mastiff (pointing the dog where to “sick ’em,” mesh armor + fixer skill (someone needs connections to sell the scrap).

3. Hunt Champion 2 – Combat shotgun, waster dirt bike, mesh armor. His skill is tbd but thinking about something to give two shots with the shotgun.

2. Hunt Champion 1 – Shotgun, cyber mastiff (pointing the dog where to “sick ’em,” mesh armor + fixer skill (someone needs connections to sell the scrap).

Venator Hunter Bikes, Rockgrinder, and Ambot

In addition to the hunt leader and champions, I wanted the remainder of the gangers to be fast in and out smash and grab types. With this in mind I put two gangers on waster dirt bikes and an ambot. As can be seen below, I used imperial knight head and face bits to modify the bikes and ambot head.

I hope to get these scrappers on the tabletop soon and into a campaign. I’m sure this is not an ideal build for the win, but it should be very fun to play once I can afford the Ambot.

Happy scumming!
